Before you start
You need the extension installed and signed in, and Google Calendar open in Chrome with its language set to English. The button appears on events that have a Google Meet link, a set start time, and have not ended yet. It does not appear on all-day events or past events.
Steps
- Open Google Calendar in Chrome.
- Click the event to open its details, or open it on the edit page.
- Find the green Add Clipses.ai to capture highlights button under the Google Meet link. It shows the time it will join, for example "Joins 2:00 PM" or "Joins Oct 6, 9:30 AM".
- Check that the time matches the event's start time.
- Click Add Clipses.ai to capture highlights.
- On the edit page, click Save. The button says Clipses will be added when you save until you do.
- Confirm the button now reads Clipses is booked for this call.
- Admit Clipses.ai Notetaker from the people list once the call starts, if Meet holds it in the waiting room.
If the call is already running
On an event whose call is under way, the button says "Joins now" and Clipses joins as soon as you click it.
If you move the event later
- On the edit page, change the time and click Save. The booking moves with the event.
- On the event details popup, the button reads Clipses is still booked for the old time, with an offer to move it to the new time. Click it to move the booking.
If you join the call early
The card in the call says Clipses joins at the booked time, and the extension's toolbar menu shows a Start recording now button. Click it to bring Clipses in straight away.
If the button does not appear
Check the list under "Before you start". You can also add Clipses during the call, or paste the Meet link into the extension. See How do I record a call by pasting the meeting link?
