Is something wrong with the notetaker?
No. The notetaker is not a Google user, so Meet shows the same "not signed in" notice it shows for any guest. It still records normally once it is in the call.
Why is the notetaker stuck in the waiting room?
Depending on how your meeting is set up, Google Meet holds guests until someone lets them in. While it waits, the Clipses card in the call says Clipses is waiting to join, and the extension's toolbar menu shows Waiting to be let in.
To let it in, open the people list in Meet and admit Clipses.ai Notetaker. Recording starts as soon as it joins.
What if I am not the host?
Ask whoever can let people into the call to admit Clipses.ai Notetaker. If you try to add Clipses again while it is waiting, the extension reminds you that it is already at the door rather than sending a second notetaker.
Why don't I see the Clipses button in Google Calendar?
The Add Clipses.ai to capture highlights button only appears when all of these are true:
- The event has a Google Meet link.
- The event has not ended yet.
- The event has a set start time (all-day events are skipped).
- Your Google Calendar is in English.
- You are signed in to the Clipses extension.
If the button still does not show, you can add Clipses during the call, or paste the Meet link into the extension. See How do I record a Google Meet call with the Chrome extension?
