Before you start
You need the extension installed and signed in. Pasting a link sends Clipses to the call now, not at a later time. To book a call for later, use the button in Google Calendar instead. See How do I add Clipses to a meeting from Google Calendar?
Steps
- Copy the Google Meet join link from the invite. It looks like https://meet.google.com/abc-defg-hij.
- Click the Clipses icon in your Chrome toolbar from any tab that is not the call itself.
- Paste the link into the field under Add Clipses to a call.
- Click Add Clipses.
- Watch the new row under Recent. It reads Getting ready, then Joining the call.
- Admit Clipses.ai Notetaker from the people list if the row says Waiting to be let in.
- Wait for the row to say Recording. Clipses records until the call ends or you click Stop & save.
- Click Open in Clipses once the row says Ready to clip.
Good to know
- Add Clipses stays greyed out until the field holds a link the extension recognizes. If it stays greyed out, copy the join link again straight from the invite.
- If you open the extension while you are on the call's own tab, it offers Add Clipses to this call instead of a field. Click that.
- A pasted link carries no meeting name, so the recording lands in a project called "Google Meet" plus the date. You can rename it or move it the first time you open it. See Where do my meeting recordings go?
