FAQ

What is the difference between Stop & save and Cancel?

Stop & save ends a recording that is already under way and keeps everything captured so far; the row moves to Finishing up, then Ready to clip. Cancel is offered before Clipses has joined the call, when nothing has been captured, and the row moves to Cancelled.

Where are these buttons?

Click the Clipses icon in your Chrome toolbar. Each recording under Recent shows its status and, while it is in progress, one link: Stop & save or Cancel. The card in the call also reminds you: Stop any time from the Clipses toolbar icon.

What does Stop & save do?

It appears once the row says Recording. Clipses leaves the call and keeps everything it captured up to that moment. The row reads Finishing up while the video is prepared, then Ready to clip with an Open in Clipses link. Stopping early never discards the footage.

What does Cancel do?

It appears while the row says Getting ready or Joining the call, including a call booked from Google Calendar that has not started yet. Nothing has been captured, so cancelling loses nothing. The row reads Cancelled, and Clipses does not join.

What if Clipses is still waiting to be let in?

The row says Waiting to be let in and offers Stop & save, but nothing has been captured yet, so clicking it cancels the recording. If you want the call recorded, admit Clipses.ai Notetaker from the people list instead.

Can I stop it while it says Finishing up?

No. The call has already ended or been stopped, and the video is on its way. Wait for Ready to clip.

What happens if I do nothing?

Clipses records until the call ends, then the row moves to Finishing up and Ready to clip on its own.

Can I add Clipses again after stopping?

Yes. Once a recording has finished, stopped or been cancelled, you can add Clipses to the same call again. It starts a new recording in a new project.
