What should happen when I click Sign in to Clipses?
A small Chrome window opens with the heading Clipses for Chrome wants to access your Clipses account, your email address underneath, and two buttons: Deny and Allow. Click Allow and the window closes. The extension is now signed in.
Why do I see "Sign in to Clipses first" instead?
The extension cannot use the login you have in the Clipses web app, so it checks whether this Chrome profile is logged in to Clipses. If it is not, the window shows Sign in to Clipses first instead of the approval screen.
To fix it:
- Click Open Clipses login. A new tab opens on the Clipses login page.
- Log in there, then return to the small window.
- Click I signed in -- retry. The approval screen appears.
- Click Allow.
What does Allow let the extension do?
It lets the extension add the notetaker to your calls and list your recordings. It cannot delete anything, change your account or touch billing. You can revoke the connection at any time from Settings in the Clipses web app.
I clicked Deny by mistake. What now?
The extension shows Sign-in was declined. Click Sign in to Clipses again and choose Allow.
Why am I signed out again later?
Revoking the connection from Settings in Clipses signs the extension out. So does a sign-in that expires or is reset. In either case, click the Clipses icon and choose Sign in to Clipses. Logging out of the Clipses web app does not sign the extension out.
Can I sign in from the call itself?
Yes. If you join a Google Meet call while the extension is signed out, the card in the corner says Clip & share this call with a Sign in to Clipses button. Click it and approve. The card changes to offer Start recording without a page reload.
