What should I see?
Once you are in the call, a card titled Clip & share this call appears in the bottom-right corner with Not now and Start recording buttons. It appears on the call page itself, not on the Meet home screen or the "Ready to join?" screen.
The card was there and then disappeared
It closes itself after ten seconds so it does not sit over your call. That is not a dismissal. Click the Clipses icon in your toolbar and choose Add Clipses to this call. The card also comes back on its own if Clipses needs you to do something, such as admitting it from the waiting room.
I clicked Not now, or closed it
That answer is remembered for this call, so the card stays away even after a reload. The card tells you where to find Clipses instead: You can always add Clipses from the menu later. Click the Clipses icon in your toolbar and choose Add Clipses to this call. Pressing Escape or clicking the X counts as the same answer.
The card shows a status instead of Start recording
A recording is already booked for this call. The card reports where it is, such as Clipses joins at the booked time, Clipses is waiting to join, or Clipses is recording. There is nothing more to click unless it asks you to admit Clipses.ai Notetaker.
The card asks me to sign in
You are signed out of the extension. The card still appears, with a Sign in to Clipses button. Click it and approve. See Why does the extension show a login page instead of asking me to approve?
The card has never appeared
Check these in order:
- You are using Google Chrome on a computer, and the extension is installed and turned on.
- The extension was updated while this Meet tab was open. It normally reconnects on its own, but if it did not, reload the tab.
- You are on the call's own page, with an address like meet.google.com/abc-defg-hij.
If the card still does not show, add Clipses from the toolbar icon or from Google Calendar. See How do I add Clipses to a meeting from Google Calendar?
